Clippers Win Round 1 Monday, September 15th , 2110 The dream of raising a championship banner in Columbus took a big step forward today. The Columbus Clippers have won the Round 1, eliminating the Norfolk Tides to advance to the Round 2. Columbus won the final game 9-1 and the series 3-1. Alex Grant was named series MVP for a huge performance. He hit .353 with a .421 on-base percentage. He drove in 4 RBI, had 0 home runs and scored 4 runs. The Columbus Clippers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Syracuse Chiefs - Rochester Red Wings series. Syracuse leads the series 2 games to 1.
