Redbirds Show No Mercy in 10-0 Thrashing of Cubs Tuesday, September 9th , 2098 The Iowa Cubs were almost helpless today in their 10-0 loss to the Memphis Redbirds and hurler Hector Gordillo. Gordillo kept the Cubs confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Gordillo," Iowa manager Tom Fleming said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 29-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 12 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Gordillo said.
