5 Hits for Curve Wilson
Wednesday, June 4th , 2110
It was a sensational day at the plate for Travis Wilson as he led the charge to a nifty 11-2 win over the Thunder. The Altoona second baseman was pure misery for the Trenton pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Wilson put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Pat Gilman, manager for the Thunder, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Travis Wilson hit a solo-shot off Casey Allard in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off David Harris in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
Wilson is hitting .308 so far this season with 23 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 61 hits including 5 home runs, 14 walks and .353 OBP.
