Barfield Goes on Rampage Against Yard Goats
Saturday, August 12th , 2113
It was a good day for the SeaWolves at Jerry Uht Park as they clipped the Hartford Yard Goats, 7-5. It was tremendous day for Gavin Barfield, who was on a hitting barrage at the plate, finishing 5-for-5.
"I don't know what to call that," the Erie first baseman told reporters after his big performance. "I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' I just try to keep it simple. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then I hit it. Today I picked up the spin pretty well."
Gavin Barfield singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
So far this season, Barfield has recorded a .336 batting average with 50 hits, 1 home run, 21 RBIs, 18 runs scored and a .357 OBP.
