Herrick Shuts Down Thunder, 5-0 Sunday, August 10th , 2098 Vinny Herrick shut out the Trenton Thunder 5-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece for the Hartford Yard Goats at New Britain Stadium today. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Hartford skipper Dimitri Kourtis said afterward. Herrick registered 8 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Trenton manager Jaime Snell after the defeat. In 22 starts this season Herrick has compiled a 15-6 record and a 2.34 ERA.
