Townsend Shuts Out Trenton, 2-0
Monday, August 25th , 2110
Bryan Townsend was in a mood to talk following the Richmond Flying Squirrels contest against the Trenton Thunder, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Thunder, 2-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Townsend said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The left-hander blanked Trenton on a 4-hitter, allowing 1 walk and racking up 4 strikeouts.
Here are his stats for this season: Townsend has chalked up no saves and fashioned a record of 10 wins and 8 losses with a 2.94 ERA. He has made no relief appearances, thrown 180.2 innings and struck out 146.
