Trotman Cracks 5 Hits
Monday, June 24th , 2115
Lupe Trotman was at the head of a Midland RockHounds hit parade at Security Bank Ballpark. The 27-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the San Antonio Missions that marched off with the 12-8 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped RockHounds skipper Jay Mizrahi following the game. "Lupe did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Trotman did more than fine, dominating the Missions at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging second baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Lupe Trotman singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season, Trotman is hitting .265 with 41 hits, 6 home runs, 22 RBIs, scored 23 runs and played in 48 games.
