Mora Torches Mudcats for 5 Hits Tuesday, August 5th , 2110 Lynchburg Hillcats left fielder Jose Mora had a day to remember at Ed Smith Stadium, ripping apart the Carolina Mudcats and sparking the 12-8 Hillcats win. Mora wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Mora told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Jose Mora singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Justin Stockton in the 10th.
