How Sweep it Is! Lynchburg Wins Round 2 Friday, September 21st , 2108 The Lynchburg Hillcats made it look easy today as they collected the 16th Round 2 championship in club history. They swept the Salem Red Sox in straight games, winning the series 4-0. The Hillcats disposed of Salem 8-5 in the series finale at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. "They were the better team this year, no doubt about it," said Red Sox manager Arturo Cobian. During the regular season, Lynchburg put up a 77-63 record and finished second in the Northern Division.
