Blue Jays Win, 4-0, as Sanchez Mystifies Clearwater
Friday, August 26th , 2112
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Jorge Sanchez of the Dunedin Blue Jays proved the point at Bright House Field, holding the Clearwater Threshers to 1 hit in a complete game shutout victory.

"Sanchez made us look real bad today," Threshers manager Luis Alvarez said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Sanchez had 4 strikeouts and gave up no walks as the Blue Jays took the 4-0 win.

This season, Sanchez has a 12-5 mark in 18 starts with a 3.01 ERA. He has given up 100 hits in 134.2 innings, struck out 129 and issued 35 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .203 batting average against him.
