Palm Beach Beats Daytona in Round 2
Tuesday, September 22nd , 2111
The Palm Beach Cardinals were good enough to get past the Daytona Tortugas at Jackie Robinson Ballpark today and secure the 3rd championship in franchise history.
"When you wear Cardinals on your shirt, you're good at something," Palm Beach skipper Greg Cary told the press.
Cardinals second baseman Chris Karnes was named MVP of the series after he went .250 with no home runs and 6 runs batted in.
"It feels totally incredible," Karnes said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."
The new champions capped off a great season with a 3-1 victory over the Tortugas to win the Round 2 4-1.
