Monday, September 10th , 2108
The joy and relief on the faces of the Brevard County Manatees players was obvious as they celebrated their Round 1 win over the Dunedin Blue Jays.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Brevard County catcher Fred Linde, shortly after the 4-3 win that clinched the series 3-2. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the Round 2.
Linde won series MVP honors on the strength of his .389 batting average during the series. He also had a .450 on-base percentage and 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Brevard County Manatees will play against the Fort Myers Miracle in the next round. Fort Myers won their series against the St. Lucie Mets 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
