Castillo Baffles Beloit Batters Monday, May 18th , 2111 Magic was in the air and on the mound at Modern Woodmen Park, as Luis Castillo held the Beloit Snappers spellbound in his 4-0 shutout victory. The Quad Cities River Bandits pitcher went the distance, rang up 8 strikeouts, walked 1, and held the Snappers to 3 hits. "He just had us in his thrall," Beloit manager Jeff Brock said. "We couldn't put anything together against him." Castillo has posted a 3-4 record for the year with a 2.17 ERA. Teams are hitting .238 against him and he has rung up 58 strikeouts in 62.1 innings.
