Diaz Strokes 5 Hits Wednesday, July 1st , 2111 Angel Diaz got the glory and the headlines, but the Cedar Rapids Kernels left with the win. The Beloit center fielder easily handled the Kernels pitching, going 5-for-6, but his Beloit Snappers came out on the short end of the 8-7 score. Diaz told BNN reporters in the postgame interview he would happily trade "three or four" of his hits for a win. "Heck, maybe even all of them," he said with a laugh. "Right now, it just seems like one loss in a long season but who knows what it could mean at the end." Angel Diaz singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, grounded out in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
