Edlund Shuts Out Peoria, 5-0
Friday, July 25th , 2098
A favor to his bullpen. That's what Ray Edlund was doing at Dozer Park today as he blanked the Peoria Chiefs in a 9-inning complete game shutout.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Fort Wayne TinCaps right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Edlund notched 12 strikeouts, surrendered 1 walk, allowed 3 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
To this point in the season he has had no saves. Edlund has made 5 relief appearances, tossed 152.1 innings and struck out 238 with a record of 12 wins and 4 losses.
