Calvert Twirls 4-0 Shutout for Loons Friday, August 17th , 2108 John Calvert was sneaky fast, on the mark, and hard to hit. He led the Great Lakes Loons to victory, 4-0, blanking the Bowling Green Hot Rods on 3 hits. He had no walks and 8 strikeouts. "You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," Bowling Green skipper Francisco Pereyra told reporters after the shutout loss. "He just had a real deceptive fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
