5-for-5 Day for Palafox Saturday, September 5th , 2111 Lansing Lugnuts left fielder Alex Palafox had a day to remember at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium, ripping apart the South Bend Cubs and sparking the 9-0 Lugnuts win. Palafox wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Palafox told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Alex Palafox singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
