Cedar Rapids Sweeps into the Round 2 Sunday, September 11th , 2107 The Cedar Rapids Kernels outclassed the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in all facets of the game throughout the MID Round 1. The end result was a Cedar Rapids series sweep to advance to the Round 2, capped off by a 11-1 win in the final game. "We're a bit surprised it's over in a sweep, to be honest with you," said first baseman Miguel Leon, who hit .571 in the series. Leon's standout effort garnered him MVP honors. He also put up a .625 on-base percentage and had 0 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Cedar Rapids Kernels don't know who they will face in the next round.
