Asheville Helpless Against MacLean, Lose 2-0
Friday, June 13th , 2110
The Kannapolis Intimidators shut out the Asheville Tourists, 2-0, behind the strong pitching of R.J. MacLean. MacLean surrendered only 4 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 9.
Following the last out, MacLean appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Asheville manager Jarrod Dryman, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. MacLean's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Tourists skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Intimidators press conference, MacLean confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," MacLean said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Kannapolis manager Brian Turek added.
Currently MacLean has a record of 1-3 with 59 strikeouts and 17 walks in 59 innings and a 3.05 ERA.
