Maldonado Sizzles -- Smokes Tourists for 5 Hits Monday, July 11th , 2107 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Rafael Maldonado of the Charleston RiverDogs. The Charleston shortstop gave it his all and dominated Asheville Tourists pitching at McCormick Field, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Tourists going home the winner, 6-3. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Maldonado said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Rafael Maldonado doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
