Intimidators, Van Slyke Blank Hickory, 3-0 Monday, August 31st , 2111 Kannapolis Intimidators starter Chris Van Slyke really did a number on the Hickory Crawdads, shutting them out, 3-0, on 3 hits in a complete game victory. He issued no walks and had 8 strikeouts. "We didn't have good at-bats," said Hickory manager Jordan Castro. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Van Slyke."
