Thursday, September 14th , 2113
The West Virginia Power and Hagerstown Suns put on a classic Round 1 that was in question until the final game.

In the end, West Virginia won the deciding contest by a score of 7-6, to take the series 3-2.

"It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said John Gibson, who earned series MVP honors for West Virginia. "Our guys are breathing a little easier now."

For the series, Gibson hit .421 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 5 runs.

The West Virginia Power will play against the Lexington Legends in the next round. Lexington won their series against the Rome Braves 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
