Plante Belts 5 Hits
Tuesday, July 23rd , 2109
It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Pat Plante of the Lowell Spinners.
The Lowell center fielder gave it his all and dominated State College Spikes pitching at Edward A. LeLacheur Park, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Spikes going home the winner, 8-6.
"There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Plante said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead."
Pat Plante singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season, Plante has hit .337 with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and scored 14 times.
