Plante Belts 5 Hits Tuesday, July 23rd , 2109 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Pat Plante of the Lowell Spinners. The Lowell center fielder gave it his all and dominated State College Spikes pitching at Edward A. LeLacheur Park, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Spikes going home the winner, 8-6. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Plante said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Pat Plante singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
