Scrappers Huffstickler Stops Crosscutters
Sunday, August 18th , 2109
Chris Huffstickler was in a mood to talk following the Mahoning Valley Scrappers contest against the Williamsport Crosscutters, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Crosscutters, 5-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Huffstickler said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked Williamsport on a 9-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 12 strikeouts.
In 11 starts this season, Huffstickler has recorded 5 wins and absorbed 3 losses. He has pitched 82.1 innings, allowed 78 hits, struck out 77 and has a 2.62 ERA.
