McKim Twirls 6-0 Shutout for Spikes Friday, August 10th , 2108 Mike McKim of the State College Spikes spun his magic on the West Virginia Black Bears. He blanked them, 6-0, on 7 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and 1 walk. "The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," McKim said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down." Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, State College skipper Paul Thomas said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations." "Mike pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
