Mahoning Valley Shuts Out Staten Island, 7-0
Friday, August 15th , 2110
In a seemingly effortless performance, Chris Huffstickler of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers shot down the Staten Island Yankees, 7-0, on 6 hits.
"Chris was just locating so well and using his pitches," Mahoning Valley manager Ramiro Tobar said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Huffstickler recorded 8 strikeouts and 3 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Staten Island manager Erik Bowman said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
