It's Over! West Virginia Defeats Aberdeen Monday, September 19th , 2112 It was a hard-fought battle for both teams to make it this far. But as the saying goes, "to the victors go the spoils." For the victorious West Virginia Black Bears, that meant the New York-Penn League Round 2 trophy. The Black Bears took a 3-2 victory over the Aberdeen Ironbirds at Russell Diethrick Park, winning their 12th championship after taking the series 4-1. "We've got grit," said Black Bears right fielder Keith Brown, who was named MVP of the series. "We know how to win when we have to."
