State College Triumphs in Round 2 Monday, September 29th , 2110 The State College Spikes pulled out all the stops tonight, winning the Round 2 in a hard-fought series with the Aberdeen Ironbirds. It was a seesaw affair, but with a 2-1 victory at Ripken Stadium, State College lay claim to the franchise's 3rd championship. "There's no denying we faced a tough opponent," said Mario Morales. "But as the old saying goes, 'when the going gets tough, the tough get going,' and that's what we did today." The champs finished the regular season 47-29 and claimed first place in the Pinckney Division. A victory parade is set to be scheduled in State College in the days to come.
