Plunkett Mows Down Los Angeles N (SS-A) in No-Hitter
Wednesday, August 6th , 2098
Miles Plunkett really did a number on the Los Angeles N (SS-A) Dodgers at Memorial Stadium today -- and that number was zero.
The Boise Hawks hurler had what he later called "one of the best moments of my life," tossing a no-hitter and leading the Hawks to victory, 4-0.
"This is something special," Plunkett said. "I knew from the fifth inning that I had a no-hitter working. I tried to get it out of my mind, but you just can't. They have too many scoreboards in the park. They're everywhere you look."
The right-hander faced only 31 batters in the no-hit gem, struck out 6 and walked 4.
"We simply couldn't get any wood on the ball," Los Angeles N (SS-A) manager Noah Grills said when asked about the epic performance. "Plunkett was brilliant out there. He certainly had our number."
In 10 starts this season Plunkett has recorded a 2-5 record and a 3.24 ERA.
