Kansas City (SS-A) could only muster 1 hit and draw 4 walks against the right-handed Cannell, who controlled them throughout the game. Cincinnati (SS-A) won the contest, 6-0. Cannell added 6 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Cannell told reporters after the shutout win.
