Spokane Blanks Hillsboro Behind Roland Friday, September 4th , 2111 The Spokane Indians shut out the Hillsboro Hops, 2-0, behind the strong pitching of Steve Roland. Roland surrendered only 3 hits in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 9. Following the last out, Roland appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Hillsboro manager Carlos Diaz, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Roland's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart. The Hops skipper would not comment on the exchange but, at the Indians press conference, Roland confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
