Round 2 Goes the Distance, Vancouver Prevails
Monday, September 29th , 2110
The Round 2 went the distance before it all was said and done.
The Vancouver Canadians and the Hillsboro Hops went at it tooth-and-nail and when it was over at Nat Bailey Stadium, the winner was the Canadians.
They put away Hillsboro 7-3 to cinch the series and won the right to move onto the Round 3.
For his fine play, even in a losing effort, Hillsboro right fielder Miguel Guillen was given the series Most Valuable Player Award. He hit .481, scored 7 runs and batted in 5 to win the honor.
"It's nice that someone noticed my numbers, but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for a win," he said.
The Vancouver Canadians will play against the Milwaukee (SS-A) Brewers in the next round. Milwaukee (SS-A) won their series against the Los Angeles A (SS-A) Angels 4 games to 2. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes.
