Hops Plugged by Valencia, Braves, 7-0 Saturday, September 7th , 2097 In a splendid 7-0 shutout performance, Willie Valencia of the Atlanta (SS-A) Braves subdued the Hillsboro Hops on a 2-hitter. "He kept hitting his spots and putting up zeroes, so I kept sending him out there," Atlanta (SS-A) manager Aaron Carpenter said in postgame comments. Valencia registered 13 strikeouts and 2 walks.
