Adame Goes 5-for-5 Against Kansas City (AZL)
Monday, July 6th , 2111
Cincinnati (AZL) right fielder Eddie Adame had a fantastic day at the plate at Surprise Stadium, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a win, 5-1.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Adame said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Royals. "No offense meant to Kansas City (AZL), but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Surprise Stadium."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the right fielder's improvements, saying Adame spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Adame said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Eddie Adame singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run triple in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In his season totals, Adame has no home runs, .475 BA, .588 OBP, 9 RBIs and 8 runs scored. He has played in 14 games.
