Barnett Slaps 5 Hits
Tuesday, September 16th , 2110
There are moments in a player's career that they will not soon forget.
Brad Barnett of the New York A (GCL) Yankees had one such moment at Timberwolves Stadium, when he went 5 for 6 at the plate. His hitting heroics weren't enough to pull out the victory, however, and New York A (GCL) succumbed to defeat, 14-13, to the Detroit (GCL) Tigers.
"This was quite a day for me individually, but a little disheartening at the same time," the 22-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "It would have been very special if we had won the game."
Brad Barnett singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, walked in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
Thus far this year, Barnett is batting .344 with 4 home runs, 32 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
