Round 1 Goes the Distance, Philadelphia (GCL) Prevails

The Philadelphia (GCL) Phillies and New York N (GCL) Mets put on a classic Round 1 that was in question until the final game.
In the end, Philadelphia (GCL) won the deciding contest by a score of 5-4, to take the series 3-2.
"It doesn't get much tighter than that. To win a series in the last game is a thrill," said Bobby Ashburner, who earned series MVP honors for Philadelphia (GCL). "Our guys are breathing a little easier now."
For the series, Ashburner hit .455 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Philadelphia (GCL) Phillies will play against the Houston (GCL) Astros in the next round. Houston (GCL) won their series against the Tampa Bay (GCL) Rays 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
