Voyagers Advance to Round 2
Wednesday, September 17th , 2098
The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Centene Stadium as the Round 1 stretched to the final game.
It was the Great Falls Voyagers feeling the thrill of victory, with a 8-0 win over the Cleveland (Rk+) Guardians, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Round 2.
"There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Cleveland (Rk+) manager Andy Robles. "Congratulations to Great Falls, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight."
Instrumental in the 3-2 series win was center fielder Andy Curtis, who was named MVP. He hit .450 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.
"We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said.
The Great Falls Voyagers will play against the Philadelphia (Rk+) Phillies in the next round. Philadelphia (Rk+) won their series against the Missoula Osprey 3 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
