He may have less experience than most of his Pioneer League peers, but that didn't slow Sean Spikes down at all in 2110.

At the age of 20, the Ogden left fielder has been named the winner of the Pioneer League Most Valuable Player Award.

He had a .343 batting average and a .394 on-base percentage this year. In 69 games he piled up 68 hits, 11 doubles, 7 triples, 10 home runs, 48 RBIs and 36 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 16. Jon Everett of the Portland Tigers finished second in voting with 3 first place votes, while Bill Cruz of the Seattle (Rk+) Mariners finished third.
