He may have less experience than most of his Pioneer League peers, but that didn't slow Dan Fesperman down at all in 2098.

At the age of 23, the Philadelphia (Rk+) catcher has been named the winner of the Pioneer League Most Valuable Player Award.

He had a .387 batting average and a .461 on-base percentage this year. In 70 games he piled up 108 hits, 28 doubles, 1 triple, 13 home runs, 74 RBIs and 62 runs scored.

"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."

He received 10 first place votes out of a possible 16. Jose Leiva of the Missoula Osprey finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Pat Garrett of the Philadelphia (Rk+) Phillies finished third.
