5-Hit Blitz by Virto Thursday, September 4th , 2098 The Round Rock Express stopped the Iowa Cubs by a score of 11-3 at Principal Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Danny Virto. The 33-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Virto said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Virto did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Cubs. "Not much that I can say," offered Iowa manager Tom Fleming. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Danny Virto grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
