Texas (Rk+) Takes Round 1
Tuesday, September 15th , 2111
The Round 1 didn't live up to the billing from those who thought it would be an all-out battle to the last game.
But the Texas (Rk+) Rangers are no doubt pleased by the results, as they have knocked out the Great Falls Voyagers 3-1 to advance to the Round 2.
"It doesn't matter how you win it, as long as you win it and get yourself moving forward," said Rangers center fielder Dustin Newell. "I know a lot of people thought this was going to be a really tight series the whole way through, but we're glad it didn't go right down to the wire."
Texas (Rk+) won the final game by a score of 6-2 at Centene Stadium.
Newell was named series MVP after hitting .278 with a .278 on-base percentage. He also had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The Texas (Rk+) Rangers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Grand Junction Rockies - Ogden Raptors series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
