Portland Wins Round 1 Sunday, September 16th , 2108 B.J. McRitchie said he expected the Round 1 to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Portland Tigers encountered little resistance in sweeping the Oakland (Rk+) Athletics, to advance to the Round 2. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said McRitchie. Portland won the final game by a 5-1 count and were led in the series by McRitchie, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .333 with 1 home runs. He also drove in 2 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Portland Tigers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Texas (Rk+) Rangers - Great Falls Voyagers series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
